It seems like a demo for a better game. It is ridiculously easy and only a few of the levels made me think "This is pretty cool". I didn't even need to farm for lives as I had about 50 by the end of world 1. Hopefully the other Mario games won't follow this trend >_<

Well, what I find stupid is one of the end levels you need 50 star coin things and I am now pissing about trying to find them... other then that I love it. The worlds graphically look AMAZING but ye it's not the hardest game ever.

Oh boy, just wait until the Special Worlds. There, nearly every level requires star coins to unlock.

That was a bad move by Nintendo.

In retrospect though, I have to admit Mario 3D Land is probably one of the weaker of the mainstream Mario games (alongside Sunshine, Galaxy 2 and a few of the 2D games). It certainly didn't interest me for as long as the prior games did.

The star coins are also in the most obvious spaces and everything's too linear (Both level-wise and map-wise)

I actually thought it was pretty good. Easy, at first but as TUK said - the special worlds are harder.

But when I compare it against other Mario games I'd say Super Mario 64 definitely had me hooked more than any other Mario game. So did Superstar Saga and Partners In Time. Both fantastic games.

Bought it two days ago. Now, the only thing left to do is beating World 8 (both normal and special) with Luigi to unlock the secret level and get the 100%.
Really, is TOO easy. There were only like six levels that gave me problems. Star coins are in the most obvious places, and the levels are too short.
The game, though, is great, but I hoped for more.

I haven't beaten the game yet, and I've only completed up to World 5, but I've only had the game for a day and barely have played it. The game is fun, and I've enjoyed it so far, but I'm disappointed. It's far too easy as most of everyone has mentioned. I have every single star possible right now which is just ridiculous as I'm terrible at finding items without a guide and have not used one thus far. I don't even know why they give you lives in this game either, because you pretty much have infinite lives. If anyone has seen the Game Over screen I'd be shocked unless they did it on purpose just for the sake of viewing it.

The game is fun, but I'm left wanting more.

I trust you did some research on this game to work out that this is not supposed to be "non-linear"?

Yes, I know that, but they could have at least made the map look interesting, or even put some themes in the worlds instead of rehashing everything.

I just got to the secret worlds and so far it's more or less the same thing. It's a tiny bit harder, being as there is no half way points to continue off of, but still pretty easy.

I'm happy though. At least the secret world adds a little bit more to the game as after that, there's no replay value.

SM3DL is a really, really big dissapointment. I played for about 5 levels before I put down the game.
It's got no challenge whatsoever. Such potential wasted....

It is very boring and next to mario kart 7,It stands no chance!!!!! SML3D just gets too boring after 2 levels i'm tired of mario But the japs might be happy...

I think the game is pretty difficult, a bit because I try to find every single coin and stomp every single goomba.
The only thing I think they should have added is a HUB, not just a boring course selection screen, more boring than old Super Mario Bros games, but something like Super Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy.

It's entertaining for me, heh. It's-a good fun running about and whipping the crap out of stuff with my trusty tail.

The only thing that I found disappointing was the design of Tanooki Luigi...

That's because it isn't actually a Tanooki, but a Kitsune, another mitical japanese animal. In fact, in the spanish version of the game, he's called Kitsune Luigi.

Not sure why everyone hates it. I'm at World 4 right now, and sure it's easy, but hey. The experience is amazing. I'm always tempted to search every nook and cranny just to get the full experience. It may be easy (so far), but you know, I think Nintendo did one hell of a job to make something like the 2D sidescrollers into something with a 3D landscape.

I just don't get it how Mario, Toad, Peach and all other enemies turn into Tanookis from the Super Leaf but only Luigi turns into that Kitsune thing.
