Anyone get tired of the 'system stability' updates?

I have to admit I do, because they add absolutely nothing of interest to the system and 'fix' a bunch of bugs I don't think anyone's actually ever experienced.

And the posts about them online make me think 'who the hell cares?'

Anyone agree?
 
Is that what the update I received yesterday was for? I've never noticed any stability problems before.
 
I believe they're only for blocking flashkarts...
 
Yes, they are obnoxious. But I assume Nintendo's using them to prevent people from using hacking stuff on their handheld.
 
Only one was helpful and it was for the 3DS browser. I don't care bout the other ones
 
I used to get a little excited whenever there was an update. But now it's a chore because I have to quit what I'm doing at the time for something which won't even affect me. I suppose I could leave it for a while but what's the point in leaving it?
 
So, here's a list of 3DS firmware versions, when they were released, and what they contained....

  • 1.0.0-0 = Launch
  • 1.1.0-1 = March 27, 2011 = 3D Video added; SpotPass upgrade allowing expanded functionality for receiving notifications and other data; and enhanced network connection functionality allowing communication with wireless internet access points that were previously unavailable, plus system stability improvements
  • 2.0.0-2 = June 6, 2011 = Nintendo eShop added; Internet Browser added; Enhanced SpotPass feature in which spotpass data can be received automatically from supported public Wi-Fi access points across Europe and it is now possible to receive future system updates automatically, plus system stability improvements
  • 2.1.0-3 = June 15, 2011 = Ridge Racer 3D glitch fix.... plus system stability improvements
  • 2.1.0-4 = July 25, 2011 = system stability improvements
  • 2.2.0-4 = December 4, 2011 = New feature for friend list where users will be able to join the games of gfriends who are playing online directly from the friends list; also, system stability improvements
  • 3.0.0-5 = December 4, 2011 = 3D video recording and playback functionality added; new StreetPass Mii Plaza content; new eShop features and improved functionality, such as support for performing downloads while the system is in sleep mode and the ability to save credit card information; System Transfer function added; and the usual system stability improvements
  • 3.0.0-6 = December 21, 2011 = System stability improvements
  • 3.1.0-6 = July 19/28, 2012 = 3DS XL launch version
  • 4.0.0-7 = April 24, 2012 = improvements to eShop; ability to create folders on the Home Menu; Nintendo Zone is accessible in Europe; support for update data such as Mario Kart 7; of course, system stability improvements
  • 4.1.0-8 = May 14, 2012 = System Stability Improvements
  • 4.2.0-9 = June 27, 2012 = System Stability Improvements
  • 4.3.0-10 = July 24, 2012 = Nintendo eShop and System Stability improvements
  • 4.4.0-10 = September 19, 2012 = System Stability Improvements
  • 4.5.0-10 = December 4, 2012 = System Stability Improvements
  • 5.0.0-11 = March 25, 2013 = Update to eShop allowing sleep mode downloads to be performed even while the eShop is running; Save Data Transfer Tool support added; System Stability Improvements
  • 5.1.0-11 = April 4, 2013 = Fix for possible problems when launching certain applications after a system update
  • 6.0.0-12 (6.0.0-11 in the US) = June 17, 2013 = Option to update StreetPass Mii Plaza (PAL and Japan only) adding a feature to purchase additional games; Save data backup feature added; System Stability Improvements
  • 6.1.0-12 (6.1.0-11 in the US) = June 27, 2013 = System Stability Improvements
  • 6.1.0-12 (US only) = July 11, 2013 = adds the StreetPass Mii Plaza update functionality, previously added in 6.0.0-12 in other regions
  • 6.2.0-12 = August 5, 2013 = StreetPass Relay points support added; System Stability Improvements
