Are Smash Bros 4 and Mario Kart 8 the Wii U's last chance?

Well, we've had a bunch of other Nintendo games, and for the most part, they've all failed to help the Wii U gain momentum. Third party games crashed and burned. Mario 3D World underperformed. New Super Mario Bros U didn't take off.

And for all of 2013, nothing else did either.

So are we literally now just praying that either Mario Kart 8 or Smash Bros 4 will sell consoles? Because as much as I like Tropical Freeze, I'm still kind of unsure about whether it'll actually catch on. And nothing else being released after seems very promising afterwards...

But what do you think? Are these titles the Wii U's last chance to actually start selling?

Yes, I think they are relying on these two game titles to sell the Wii U. I don't think they will help Nintendo sell a lot more consoles though.

Yes. And if they don't sell the perfect amount of copies every Wii U and 3DS on earth will explode and Nintendo Headquarters will turn into a giant black whole that sucks every Nintendo fan straight into hell where they burn for all eternity while Sony and Microsoft make ALL the moneyz and everyone will happily play with their Kinects and Vitas til doomsday comes and takes them to heaven.

Right, guys?

Right?

>_>

Look....I get we're all a bit worried here...but...

Nintendo isn't just going to up and die if the sales are just ok. Try to be a bit more optimistic. They'll cross that bridge once they get there. They're Nintendo! Not Sega or something.

No, not even. The console's not even 2 years old. When it's 4-5 years in, has a main-cannon Zelda game and it's still struggling, then yeah. It failed.

super smash bros 4 will be out this winter according February Issue of nintendo official mag

Of course it's not. The system is still a child in its life cycle. It has many great games like New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario 3D World, and a lot of other titles. The system is fine. Everyone is over reacting to nothing.

It's like when the Xbox 360 and PS3 came out. They didn't have a bunch of new and exciting games when they were first released and they weren't selling well. After 5 to 6 years, the consoles eventually sold millions and millions because of the games they were releasing.

So, no. The WiiU isn't failing and won't be the "downfall" of Nintendo but everyone's overreacting about this.
