Well?

As for me, I will definitely get it! And I think I'm gonna play New Super Mario Bros. 2 on the bigger screen...

Was waiting for it, I have to admit that this announcement took me by surprise since I was waiting for the Lite version, then the second circle pad version and lastly the XL.

Pardon my ignorance, but when was this confirmed? Last I recall it was rumored but nothing came about it.

Assuming it's legit (I don't doubt it), I have no interest for it. Never understood the original XL either. The bigger the handheld, the more tedious it is at what it's designed for - being portable.

Not a CHANCE. As stated in the other topic:

What? Buy this and give up my Zelda limited edition? I know I'm not a Zelda fan... But NO. I already HAD one system before this one. I'm not doing another system transfer unless Nintendo make a Yoshi 3DS. And there's no need to get an XL. After playing Pearl several times on the DSi XL I decided not to get one if the 3DS got one, the image looked massive and really bad quality that was heavily pixelated. No, I'll keep my one, thank you.

Would get it if I could trade in my 3ds for it, but still carry the stuff over..

it looks good as it looks like it will not smudge as much ,but the L and R buttons still look as tiny as the normal 3ds as well as the rest of the buttons and will only get if they have good trade in deals, but ill have to keep all my content or ill wont buy it.

You know, after looking at this, it looks like it was redesigned just to fit in with the WiiU design wise.

Anyways, I won't be getting it. I bought and stuck with the very first DS, so I'll do the same with my 3DS.

The original design is more sleek and portable, so this is not on my wishlist.

You're not quite up to date, my friend. It was confirmed (almost) 24 hours ago!

Well, if you really think so, just don't get it.

This is not meant to replace the original 3DS, needless to say. This is meant to give consumers a further option in terms of size. Some people may prefer bigger screens, or just a bigger handheld. Nothing wrong with that.

I am getting it because it would be nice to play Mario Kart 7, Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D etc. on 90% bigger screens... that's all.

Im going to start saving money up so I can buy this!

Bleuguh. Hell no. It looks ugly.

agreed ..it looks more like a toy than anything else. I have a feeling this might be the last 3DS version before a complete remodel kinda like the DSi XL before the 3DS...idk I am just saying.

I am surprised that so many people here seem to be interested only in this new device's appearance (it's ugly, etc. etc.) rather than its most obvious feature ....

What about the fact that it has (almost) twice-as-big screens!!??

I was turned off by the whole idea of a 3ds XL. When they released the pictures and the footage, I got an extreme urge to have it. The system in my opinion look awesome, and playing games like Mario Kart, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, and the other ones I own would look amazing. The quality will most likely not decrease, but enhance. The 3ds tries to display beautiful visuals, but they're crunched on that little screen. I can imagine that you will be able to see better detail with the new screen. For example, in Resident Evil, the fingers looked aweful simply because there wasn't enough pixels for the fingers to take up space. Now with a larger screen, the fingers, as well as other limbs and details can be drawn to their full potential. I know this talk about fingers is stupid, but this concept will carry over to many other grames. The only reason why the dsixl looked bad with the Pokemon is the fact that Pokemon are drawn as sprites, so the image is just blown up. Yea, that will look bad. But when you have a game where everything is actually rendered, and the system probably has anti-aliasing (smudges the jagged edges), the game will look beautiful. For me, this is a definite buy. Not because I'm a sucker for these kinds of products - because I'm not - but because I see a lot of potential to this new product. I think the design is sexy, I think the screen will be beautiful, and I'm willing to give up some of the portability, because quite frankly, I had never, ever put the system in my pocket. I would always carry it around in a case. In fact, I bet carrying this system around in a case would make it look kind of like a netbook or something. I'm in love with the whole design. Enough said.

Well said, I agree.

Nintendo will release a brandnew Zelda game for the 3DS soon (hopefully this year, if not next year), and darned if I don't play that on bigger screens... the 3D effects will be twice as amazing!

Come to think of it, Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 will be at least twice as amazing too!

In my opinion I dont find necessary the bigger screens, at least for me, but I think only people that cant see well, (Im one of those but I use glasses), are graphic designers or like to draw using some kind of app like Colors 3DS, Art Academy or for those who use Netflix will be getting this model. To be honest I dont really like it, but it depends on the person.

I'm gonna stick with the original, figuring that I got it this late. Not to mention, the XL looks kinda too large to fit in my pocket to take around with me unlike the original one.

I am getting this for the reasons stated above, yes, and these are the main reasons, but there's also another reason...

I am also getting it because I want to support Nintendo, my favorite company in the world. Yes. I don't want this to be a failure, and that's the truth. But I am pretty sure, this will be a big success indeed...

I already have a 3DS, so I don't feel the need to pick this one up.

That said however, I do think that the 3DS XL (Is that even the official name?), especially after what Programmer, is a nice idea. After all, more options never hurt anyone.
