Microsoft has offered nothing if not choice when it comes to Bungie's recently released shooter Halo 3. Currently, the package comes in a $59.99 standard edition, a $69.99 limited edition, and a $129.99 legendary edition to suit virtually any gamer's budget. However, those still on the fence on whether to pick up Halo 3, or just interested in donating to charity, may also want to check out Microsoft's one-of-a-kind, limited-edition bundle for the game, which is currently being auctioned off on eBay.

First, there's the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo 3 console...signed by America's richest man, Bill Gates. J Allard fans will also be pleased to know that the former Xbox chief has lent his John Hancock to a 30GB Halo 3-themed Zune media player. The media player, which Allard helped design, comes preloaded with the complete Halo and Halo 2 soundtracks, as well as a number of Halo-themed videos and a bevy of artwork.

And then, of course, there's the typical assortment of pack-ins that publishers like to cram into these things. In addition to a legendary edition of the game, the bundle includes a standard edition Halo 3, the original Halo, and Halo 2. There's also the two limited-edition Halo 3-themed wireless controllers, an Xbox 360 HD DVD player, a Messenger Kit, an HDMI AV cable, and an extra 120GB hard drive. Rounding out the package is a "rare" Xbox 360 accessory pack that boxes up essentially one of every current Xbox 360 peripheral in a handy aluminum case.

So what's this limited-edition bundle worth? Well, with seven days left in the auction as of press time, its price was $8,600. Of course, Microsoft will be donating all proceeds of the sale to the Boys and Girls Club.
