Bad Time to Buy a PS4

It's too bad that Sony does not have a website or store where people can pick the hard drive size which they want to be installed on their PS4, and have it shipped to their home.
They should just support external hard drives anyway.

problem with that is people may not have the room to have one sticking out of the PS4.

There would also be people who use cheaper slower  and un-reliable external hard drives which would make games lag, and their games may crash, and they blame their PS4.

If made aware it wouldn't be an issue. Maybe sony should only support certain external hard drives.

Yes, this would be a good idea for Sony to only support faster external hard drives which are fast enough to load games quickly, and warn people not use USB 1.0-2.0 hard drives which is slower than USB 3.0 drives.

I think External hard drives with their own external power supply  brick are also faster because they use 7200 RPM desktop hard drives which are faster than the 5200 RPM portable hard drives which uses the USB's ports power.

Regarding the hard drive issue:

While the PS4 allows for external hard drives, these do not support game installs. And although owners can replace the internal storage, they will need to purchase a 2.5-inch drive, which are not as common and more expensive. Nyko says the Databank circumvents these problems, allowing for straightforward installation of huge and relatively inexpensive hard drives.

Aside from that, it's NEVER a bad time to buy a system if it has game(s) that you want badly enough that are exclusive to said system.

I reckon that at the moment the PS4 console is too expensive to buy although it is a good brand and also has some good games which are on the console which are well made. I think that the Ps4 should be cheaper to buy for people, as the price at the moment is too much as the cost being reduced will cause other people to buy the console. It is interesting to see the slim console as it may be cheaper to buy and hope it has better frame rate and up, dated hardware in the system.

Definelty no, not at the moment. I'd wait and save money for the next console that Sony will develop hoping that the optimization will be better than the actualy one made on PS4 since it's sucks quite so much. I would like also to see more developing about loadings and such because despite the improvements made the loadings are still too slow.

I'm a little stuck for cash at the moment, so I've no choice but to wait anyways.   There are so many new releases that I want to play though and it's killing me to wait :<

I've heard rumors of the PS5 being built by next summer, so it may not drop until then. You are still probably better off waiting and seeing if it drops in any significant way. I doubt it will unless it's the holidays, but hey, we can't tell the future to the exact moment.

I find it strange that this kind of thing still happens... I mean, you would expect it to happen the first year they had an online Cyber Monday sale, but then c'mo, people, learn from previous experiences... Buy an extra-server, hire some technicians, prepare in advance...

It's like Einstein once said, "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".

I also heard a rumour that Sony was preparing to release a second generation PS4 but that's since all gone quiet. There was no mention of it at E3 or in the media lately either.

While the PS4 continues to sell like it is doing I doubt that Sony will be looking at dropping the price, so I think the decision to wait or not should be based on the actual games that are coming out.

If anything you saw at E3 didn't tempt you, then it's probably better to wait, because whichever way you look at it, it's a lot of money to spend just to play games.
