So in addition to a multiplayer shooter like Battlefield 4 I am also looking into getting a racing game, the most recent one I have played being Test Drive Unlimited 2 which I love but the online community is as good as dead now. The most recent Need for Speed game I owned for Xbox was Hot Pursuit which I also really enjoyed because it was similar to burnout with cop chases and open-world driving but the online community died very quickly and within about 6 months of owning the game (got it for Xmas 2010, didn't start playing until February because of exams) the online community rapidly died out too.
So at present, which is currently the best arcade-style open-world driving games out there that have decent online communities. I am looking at NFS Rivals but I have heard mixed things about it (although a lot of negative reviews are because online shops don't tell you a hard drive is required) but are there alternatives?
P.S. Don't say Burnout Paradise as I already own it and my save file got corrupted and I lost all my data.
There are so many racing games I could suggest you right now, but I would say go for Forza series. Most of the games in the series is ace. You are going to love the buttery tracks and smooth handling. I my opinion, this game is better than Sony's flagship franchise - Grand Tourismo series.
I have to agree with the above user, if you're looking for a quality racing game on the XBox, you really can't go wrong with Forza. The game's are beautiful and fun to play, they're easily some of the best in genre.
Forza is a beautifal game graphics wise and i believe is the best racing game out there.
I have loved all the series and the new one is just amazing!
Must buy for anyone with an Xbox one.
I have to agree with everyone above. I've been playing Forza since the beginning, and it's really a remarkable franchise for anyone who enjoys racing games. If you're aiming towards an open world type game, Forza Horizon (or if you want to wait a few months Forza Horizon 2) would really be a good choice. I loved the idea of an open world Forza, and it worked wonders for them. The online play in the Forza community is pretty great and a lot of fun whether you're interested in real races, or just messing around with your friends.
Need For Speed Most Wanted, you can just go on crazy police car chases for anything upto as long as you like, the longest I managed was 45 minutes, they put out road blocks too and you can smash through them
Forza Motor Sport 4 is more of a serious game, if you are looking for fun go for Need For Speed Most Wanted
I have to say that Forza 5 for the Xbox One is one of the better Forza games I have played in a while but for a racing game that is the best currently especially for me it has to be from the Need for Speed series and that was Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. That game was brilliant and I really enjoyed how they changed it up and made it so you could be either cops or racers which made it a lot more fun and kept the interest in the game for me.
