It's a little comical to see Chopper's reaction to notice Big mom staring at him.
But she can eat people without even thinking much about it so they are supposed to be very careful, from this point on.

I do like her as a character, I wonder if its a reflection of the hunger trope in anime/manga series?

I don't think I have seen any other character having so much hunger in the first place
