PlayStation-related news can come from pretty much anywhere these days. Today, it's come from a radio interview with Éabha McMahon, also known by her stage name, AVA. Chatting about her career in an afternoon slot on WLR FM, the Irish singer-songwriter has casually revealed she's been working on a "PlayStation game" with composer Michael McGlynn.
Asked for more details on the project, AVA explains that McGlynn reached out to her and said he was "writing music for a remake of a PlayStation game", and that they were looking for an "Irish language piece". AVA's involvement went as far as writing Irish language lyrics for some music in this mystery game. That's not all, though: apparently, this game will be formally announced "at Christmas". Though she's not too familiar with games, she is aware that this is a "big" game.
Then there's the matter of which games might have some need for an Irish language track. Fans have done a bit of digging, and it turns out that Procyon Studio, a music production company led by Yasunori Mitsuda, has recently been working with McGlynn and his daughter. AVA says McGlynn's daughter sings the vocals on the Irish language song for this game. Putting these things together, fans are speculating about a remake of Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Xenoblade, and others.
