At its press conference today, Microsoft confirmed that all DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will come to Xbox 360 first as a timed exclusive.

No precise amount of time was revealed, but previous Call of Duty DLC was exclusive to Xbox Live for a period of 30 days.

I really hate this.
Microsoft just shells out money for them to make it an exclusive.. Do they think that people are going to ditch their PS3's and jump to XBOX because they have to wait 30 days for DLC? No.

This is good news for me. Another reason for me to laugh at my friends who aren't on xbox. I will be buying this once it comes out but without the camping.

I find it to be a waste to buy them out. How many extra consoles do they really sell? When Modern Warfare 3 DLC came out earlier, PS3 was still ahead that week.

I am not going to buy another Call of Duty game again because they are looking just for profit with a little work. I used to be a big fan of CoD series, but because of MW3 being almost identical with MW2 ( wasting my money on both of them ) I decided to never buy a CoD game again. So this news about Black Ops 2 DLC is worthless for me.

I find it strange when people say that CoD is the same thing every year. It has a new campaign, new maps, new guns, new extra game mode, etc.

This is what I have been saying. They need to make 1 game as a flagship of some sort and do something to that game that makes it extra special or stand out. Maybe some new revolutionary way or something dealing with the maps.

That's exactly what i think lol, people expect the game to change completely from one version to another, its like expecting the next need for speed to be like burnout (which IMO would be pretty cool but useless).

I think it might be the fact that these game company's only try to make more FPS lol. I've heard people say already that WiiU is boring and the games are dumb or whatever, but I'd rather try it than buy & play 20+ shooters. That can get boring? No variety.

Its the same in every industry, when they find something worth selling, they milk it to the bones.

That's true, it also depends on who makes the games. Some companies offer great varieties in their longest running video game series. Just think of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, or Shin Megami Tensei, same series but the releases are (almost) all different. But then again you have to admit that genres like FPS and Racing games have limited space for development.

I'm really ashamed to say I will be buying Black Ops 2. Yes the controls, visuals, and general gameplay is always the same, but most of my friends buy it so I end up getting it so I have people to play with. This is the new Madden, with them unloading the same thing every year. Do you realize they kept the same exact starting screen from Madern Warefare 2? Its the exact same! Talk about lazy.

Pretty much what Dex says. However, if anything, I'm banking on Treyarch. The problem with CoD games is not the underlying formula, which is solid...but rather the fact tehy all feel like expansion packs to the previous games. The new features are negligible. Thus, if BLOPSII has Branching Paths as they say, I'll actually get it...as it'll actually be the first CoD since 4 that's a worthwhile gaming experience.
