Blackberry says users will get “at least another two years” of support, which suggests that there may still be support for the operating system even after the app store shuts down. But BlackBerry isn’t making any promises yet.

Now would be a good time for BB10 OS users to backup all their data on their Blackberry 10 device, and move the data to a newer Google Android or iPhone smartphone.

I wonder if there would be an official Blackberry Android ROMs for devices which still run BB10 and BBOS like the Blackberry Passport, so people are not stuck with a device which is no longer receiving updates, and has no app store.

shame to see them ending support.

I feel bad for all the users who bought many paid apps and games for BB OS which they can no longer use once their current Blackberry 10 OS device becomes broken, and they can't redownload the app and game because the app store will also close down, and there may not be a good emulator for BB apps and games.

It is somewhat sad that the amount of Blackberry OS fans may become smaller where there are not as many BB fans to talk to over time.

BB fans who wrote books about Blackberry OS, and articles will now have fewer readers after the end of support for BB OS. Blackberry fansites and forums will now have fewer new members when BB OS is discontinued, so the BB forum becomes less active over time when most users switch to iOS and Android, retire, and the remaining Blackberry phones breakdown.
