A streamer playing Call of Duty: Warzone in Centurion, South Africa was recently robbed by a group of men. The incident happened not only in the middle of a game, but while the player was livestreaming on Twitch.
Sterna Lewis, a streamer who goes by the name MSBANDIIT, was celebrating the release of the new Call of Duty: Warzone season with a Twitch livestream. Not long after the stream began, three men - one armed - barged into her study, where they ripped off her headphones and accosted her. Lewis and her husband Mario Engelbrecht were bound and told to lay quietly on the ground, where the intruders proceeded to collect the couple's valuables. The robbers reportedly stole the couple's car keys, cellphones, TVs, and several other electronics before authorities were notified, according to news site Pretoria Rekord.
A friend watching the stream called cops making the robbers flee before they could get away with the stolen items.
I wonder what her audience thought on stream. It's a good thing the police were notified. This is quite sad to see this happen to someone. It's a good thing they fled. It could have been a lot worse.
