Comedy in video games

Portal 1 and Portal 2 both had not only great writing, but they also had great comedic writing. Comedy seems to be something rarely ever injected in games, unless its really zany and over the top like in GTA or Saints Row. I think a lot of the time games have stories that are a little more serious than they need to be.

Is comedy just harder to pull off in games? Do you wish we had more games with scripts like Portal 2?

The problem with putting comedy into games is that not all writers can make good jokes.

I do enjoy the comedy placed into the Persona 3 and 4 games, but that just uses mainstream anime stuff.

I think having great little one liners spread throughout the game is great.
