The winning idea only receives beta content? And the judges do too? The winner should get more credit.
Alright, I'll give it a shot.
Plot: 3 nations are at war during a midevil time period with the people having a grasp over magic as well. The story follows a young protagonist and thier best friend as they fight for their country. As time goes on, they realize that their country handles war in a violent and unorthodox manner. The protagonist witnesses thier fellow soldiers harassing a civilian and attempts to stop them. They is successful, but called a traitor. The protagonist flees the country with his friend and become wanderers, until the protagonist rescues a young mage who is a member of a secret fourth party in the war, a party attempting to end it and bring together the kingdoms to face a great threat that will destroy thier very way of existence.
So there it is, I left out a mess of details to shrink it down a bit, but if you're interested, I'll be more than happy to help you develope it further.

Okay I thought I might give this a shot so the plot: You play as a warrior that you name who has to venture out into a land that you can also name in search of 12 ancient relics that hold the power to reserect an a evil monster called Amadok from the centre of the planet. The reason you are trying to get the relics is so the evil sorcerer Drako can't reserect Amadok. But after you are about to get the last relic disaster strikes and Drako takes all of the relics and scatters them in 12 temples all across the land the last 1 being where he resides. Gameplay: You go through each level using a sword, a shield and various magic spells to finish a level you have to reach a sign post with goal written on it. The boss battles are easy to understand you have to dodge its attacks and hit it a certain amount of times.
So, as you all know, I'm working on a game. More specifically, a game engine. Now, i'm holding a contest.

Not to sound rude, but basically what it seems as though you are doing is making a game based on the winner's concept and rather than pay them royalties if you make a profit, you are merely giving than access to the beta of their game. I can't find a good place to begin on the list if problems that I have with this.

If they submit a idea then they should already know that they aren't getting anything aside from early access to the game, and maybe a place in the credits. There is nothing in the topic that says they are getting royalties/payment/etc. It's voluntary, they aren't being jipped of anything.
