What types of games do you prefer, console games or PC games?

Me personally, I've always preferred console games due to the simplicity, you just insert the disc/cartridge and play the game from the main menu (or just have it load immediately) rather than have to worry about technology. No drivers, no graphics cards, no installation, no nothing.

But I see why people might prefer PC games (private servers, custom content/mods, etc), I just don't myself.

Which types of games do you prefer?

I say console because PC's are only good when you emu- you know whats. Other than that, computers aren't made for actual games since they can't handel the graphics and lag really bad. Heck my computer crashes when it plays Minecraft.

thats when you have a non-gaming pc. i play games on my laptop all the time. minecraft, binding of isaac, towns, heck, even portal 2 i can play on my laptop.

i say PC's cause you can play everything on them, with the right software. and hardware.

I like them both, but I prefer bigger games on a console because my computer can't run the heaviest games.. Though the pc on the other hand allows me to play whenever I want, I don't have to go to the store whenever I want to buy a new game, the games usually have loads of mods and extra content that you can't get on consoles + PC has a much bigger library of games and sometimes the indie games are better than most big budget games..

I enjoy both as well. It really just depends on what features and such are available on a per system basis, and where and how I want to game. I prefer Skyrim on the computer for the easy availability of mods and console commands and I also play WoW and things like Age of Empires or other Steam games. But I still like to play Dragon's Dogma on the PS3, or watch TV and play NSMB2 while I watch TV in the evening.

They both have thier weak and strong points but i have to say i rather, console games, their better in imo and their alot of exclusives to consles, so yeah...

I prefer PCs. I grew up with consoles but now, having access to all these games on my laptop, I can't really go back. Having everything within a few clicks away is really convenient, in my opinion. I still like consoles though.

Better online play, private servers, being to play games for free, being able to upgrade your computer to be the best.

However, why not both?

i will always love consoles, but they will always have a drawback to titles and indie games "360's indies are OK at times" and if a console comes out with great graphics and awesome tech "3DS AR zone and rez evil's gyro for ex. made me fall in love with motion more then wii", there will always be someone who made a game for a console available for PC. now as for costs.. if consoles didn't cost as much as an upgrade to your computer i would be happy. but then again paying 700++ bucks for a PC to have it still be a little slow and just fail do to virus and malware is a total shame.. but lets not forget the xboxs 360's red rings "as well as the wii and first xbox just melting when left on, thats why i hated wii's always on standby mode i went through 3 wiis that over heated." yes a pc can over heat but it can also warn you or be set to shut down at certain temps. anyway, like said before many a times you really cant compare the tastes of different ppl, and oh i forgot the horrid feeling when you need 40-60 bucks for every game "all consoles included in that lol" and it sucks soooo bad :^P. and the chances for "demos" on a PC are usually higher. yes yes you tubes videos can give you an idea of a game but to feel it to see how good you can be with at least half a level is always nice. :D

oh i forgot to mention the wiis where not in a hot room or covered or anything they were in a room with ac's in an open spot with no pet hair. and thats what scares me a little about the 3ds's sleep mode lol.

Computers, modern computers, can handle MUCH more then any console.

Consoles are cheap and more convenient than PC's. But PC's offer more opportunity and are more efficient than consoles. My favorite FPS of all time is Unreal Tournament 1999 on PC, and no console version came close to capturing the essence of the game. Which shows that for MMO's, FPS's, and RTS's, PC's are the best option. While platformers, racing, sports, and adventure games are much more fitted to a console. No multiplayer is better than 4 on 4 Age of Empires (I have done this a lot), but consoles offer completely different experiences that really cant be compared to a PC.

I'm sorry but that's because your computer is probably pre-historic.

Please don't spread such stupid things, a high-end computer can surpass the power of the Wii U, PS3 and the 360 combined.

I got a new one 5 years ago. It's not that old. Computers aren't that great for gaming. Besides Alienware, but I don't have the money for that.

....5 years ago? yeah, its no wonder you cant play anything on it. 5 years ago, computers WERE complete crap. now however...... well, my laptop, i got it for just under £400, dual core CPU, 4GB ram, and a nice 250GB hard drive. it plays portal 2, which is currently the hardest thing on graphics i own. heck, im not even sure if my laptop has a graphics card, or if it uses onboard. and btw, 5 years IS old for a computer. especially if you plan to game on it. the reason alienware is so good is because its newer. nothing there is going to be more then about a year old.

Alienware is just overpriced fancy lights. You can get a decent gaming desktop for 500-1000$

PC's age more quickly than consoles. Laptops are worse, you can't upgrade individual parts of a laptop like a PC.

You can't upgrade consoles either.. PC will always be better on performance than a console unless you have a toaster as a pc and that the PS7/Xbox 1420 are just op pcs with another operating system.

Alienware is a lot of presentation for a high price.

You can buy the parts and build an "Alienware" yourself, much cheaper and the same thing.

Also, 5 years ago is a lot of time, I do hope you're constantly upgrading it? Or else you just have a calculator computer and you're spreading around false information, the only reason you would want to play consoles is the cheaper price and the exclusive games.

Seriously what. To begin with the fact that you think only alienware can run high PC games is stupid. But even more then that you thinking a computer has to be "built for gaming" to run PC games. You can buy just a regular fucking computer and maybe not run stuff on the highest graphcis settings, but still easily run any game. Graphics are still going to be better then the majority of consoles.

Your computers a god damn potato, it's 5 years old. You know what that means it can run? 5-3 year old games. Minecraft is a bad example by the way. It lags like fuck on the majority of computers out there.

And why would you ever think about getting alienware. Why.
