Yes, while the recent decisions have been the new CEO of Xbox, he still pushed for the Kinect and AI and other stupid things no gamer ever wanted.

I believe I read that he purchased all these studios without a proper management system put in place to keep them making decent games. That seems like failed thinking.

Very failed thinking.
He should have taken a more strategic approach. Maybe contracted them to make the next iterations of their popular games or maybe had them work to relaunch without outright purchasing the company.
