As in, do you buy them on discs/cards/CDs in shops or as downloads on services like the eShop or Steam or the like?

I always buy them in physical game card/whatever format. Don't know why, but I just think it's lesser hassle, it means I retain full ownership of any games I buy (and can sell/give them away) and I prefer the feeling of opening the box for the first time rather than using some download service.

I buy both. Sometimes I don't have time to drive 50 miles to the game store. If there is a game I really want, I go buy the physical copy.

Well, I don't actually go to the shops for my games -we lack game stores that are easy to access- so I just use Amazon ^^ I'd be too paranoid about my 3DS if I downloaded all my games, besides, I don't want to have to buy loads of SD cards if I bought loads of games (I've heard some games are huge) and I just have a preference of having boxes lying around, so it looks like a collection :3

I buy my games in physical form. Except for VC games from the e-shop.

Well, I used to get the physical copy of some DVD or some other device.
Now, I prefer downloading it installing it directly.
It's too much trouble to go to a game shop to get what I want.

I mainly buy physical games for consoles since I can always re-sell them when I finish the game or dislike the game.

Collecting physical games is also a fun hobby compared to having a hard drive full of games which is not as fun.

I only have one game that's a digtal download (it's on my Switch). All the other games I have, are the physical copy (including past games I've bought for past consoles).

Very much both at the moment, but I'd think I have far more digital games since my PS4 than I had physical games. I tend to buy mainly in the PlayStation store sales.

Why pay for the same price when you can have something that you can physicall touch and feel. :p

Selling an older game console with many old games may make more people pay hundreds of dollars more for your game consoles along with all your old games.

There may also be a chance that a few games will be expensive collectors items in a few years where a game collector mainly buy an expensive collectible game like old Nintendo games to put on a glass display shelf/bookcase to show off to their many gamer friends.
