The Battle Subway won't allow them and some wi-fi tournaments ban them as well. What's with all of the hate towards the Legendary/Mythical/Special Pokemon? Is it the beefed up stats? Please share your opinion.

Personally, I don't see anything too wrong with them considering that all Trainers more or less have equal access to the beasties, so why shouldn't they be allowed to use them?
 
Yes yes, but why? Is it purely because of high stats? (I'm still trying to understand how Pokemon EVs and IVs work, so bear with me)

Yes it's because of the capabilities of their stats. Whereas a basic pokemon would have some really high attack...they'd be flawed in another such as defence...In legendaries...these flaws do not exist. Their stats can all be good, whereas another Pokemon can only have about 3 "great stats".
 
I say no. I don't see legendaries at cheap. I see legendaries as every other Pokemon. I believe that they shouldn't be banned just because they're a little different. To be honest don't see the difference between normal Pokemon and legendary Pokemon. As far as I see there is no real difference besides the fact that legedaries are rare.
 
Nope. I don't see them that way. Ok, so they're more powerful. And the point is...? Come ON, with the right team you can take down anything. Legendaries may be stronger but they can still fall to a type disadvantage.
 
I completely agree with Y64M. With a well balanced team and knowing what the Legendary Pokemon is weak against, I'm sure one can defeat a legendary. I mean all legendaries have one weakness or two! If you play your cards right you could win. Yes Legendary Pokemon are powerful but I don't see them as that, what I see is a cool looking pokemon that has some awesome moves or a really cool signature move.

Lugia - Areo Blast
Ho-Oh - Sacred Fire
Latias - Mist Ball
Latios - Luster Purge
Jirachi - Doom Desire
Dialga - Roar of Time
Palkia - Spacial Rend
Heatran - Magma Strom
Giratina - Shadow Force
Reshiram - Fusion Flare &
Zekrom - Fusion Bolt

(These are the only ones that I know, because they stand out, so if I've missed a few just give me a heads up.)
Also Event Exclusives, that know these moves, DON'T count!

Most competitive players consider them Cheap. I consider myself a competitive player...but really don't care if anyone uses em against me, so long as they're not like "OMG, I trashed you." Also a full team of legends isn't cool, lol.
 
i wouldnt exactly call them cheap, but if sum1 has a team full of legendaries versing a team full of basic pokemon, the player with the legendaries will have the upperhand, still chance of losing tho. but im not suprised at all that they are banned.
 
I've always seen legendaries as pretty useless, unless you have a bunch of time on your hands to train them. They take forever to level up. Do people even use legendaries? I thought they were used for plot progression and nothing more.
 
I use them. They're powerful but, more importantly, they look cool. And unless you're a competitive online player, that's all that really matters at the end of the day

No. I don't consider anything 'cheap' to be honest, my motto when I played Pokemon was 'win at all costs, who cares how the loser felt'. If I played a Pokemon game (keep in mind my last owned game was Pokemon Gold, and my last played Pokemon Sapphire), I'd use absolutely anything that could win a fight, from ubers (such as whatever was on the game cover) to event only Pokemon like Deoxys, even before the official events (thank you Action Replay!)

If these so called pros can't handle Pokemon better than others, I see them as no better than the scrubs they oppose.

Pokemon racism, shameful.
And I find this to be the same as SSBB: If it's in the game, use it. People just whinge cause they can never manage to catch any legendaries. Also, people end up having the exact same team and it gets a bit boring.

Reshiram also gets Blue Flare, and Zekrom gets Electro Bolt at lvl 100

Except Brawl is not a stat based game, ssbb whiners are the worst.


I really don't care for legendaries personally..I like them for their appearance and for the plot progression. They make nice trophies.

Yeah. They're meant to be cheap in SSBB. SSBB is just an all around unfair, glitchy, crap game. Maybe if people didn't rush Nintendo about it making them be like, "You want the game? Fine here." Then maybe the game would have been better.

Also Something happened to Suicune in SSBB. It used to use an ice whirlwind. Now it spits water. I mean wtf happened?
