I notice most of the electric cars I see are made by Tesla Motors. I sometimes see electric cars made by Nissan, BMW and Mitsubishi which also sell electric cars where I live.

I think people buy Tesla because they look better than most electric and gas cars, and they come with a lot of cool tech features.

I can see myself buying a car like this sometime in the far off future, when it can hold a lot of mileage per charge.

I feel the price of average electric cars are somewhat expensive and dont offer good range per charge when compared to a similar size gas car which cost many thousands dollars less than most cheap electric car. The design of some of more basic electric cars don't look good and can look weird at times.

But, higher end electric cars like the Tesla Model 3 with longer range of 220 miles can be better than gas powered luxury sports cars. Replacement gas engine parts for luxury cars and maintenance cost like oil changes are usually very expensive. Electricity is also usually cheaper than Premium Gas which is needed for some luxury sports cars to run properly. Luxury sports cars also use a lot of gas, so a electric luxury car owners may save money by driving an electric car than buying a gas luxury sports car which uses a lot of gas.

Like I said, give it time.

I agree, most drivers would have to wait some time for affordable electric cars which are similar in price as gas cars and offer good range.

The price of gas is now almost $3 a gallon and may become more expensive in the next few months which can make electric cars worth it for drivers who drive many miles per day and have many car chargers located at different places around where they live, can deal with waiting a few hours to charge their car, and they have cheaper electricity prices where they live.

Electric cars can be worth it for drivers who want to save money on fuel. But, don't want to drive less, switch to a Hybrid gas electric car like the Toyota Prius or a smaller slow lightweight fuel efficient gas car like the Mitsubishi Mirage which have better gas mileage than most gas cars.

Well, I am not completely sure but if the product is good, then people would want to get it for a lower price.
As for me, it depends on the reviews.

I think picking an electric car company which still will be in business and not shutdown in many years because of money problems is also important, so there still be replacement parts being made in the future.

There are car companies like Saturn, Mercury, Geo, Pontiac, etc which no longer exist, so finding new replacement parts for these cars may not be possible because the car company no longer exist.
