Per topic title, do you try and keep up the crazy Zelda timeline?

Nope, cause it's all over the place. Though there's an AVGN video that tries to piece it all together for the most part lol.

Tbh, that video is hella outdated because

A: Twilight Princess was the newest game at the time
B: the timeline wasn’t officially released yet

I know the basic gist of the timeline. The split timeline is kind of silly tho

There is so many Zelda games, it's hard to keep track of them all. I haven't played Zelda in years, but if I were to get back into it. Which one would you recommend?
Honestly, a shorter list is what not to play. There are basically three types of Zelda games:
Breath of the Wild style
Ocarina of Time style
2D

I don't follow the timeline because I don't know if I'll ever get to play them all. But since I know the official one exists at least I can check whenever I feel like.

In its exact style, two games not counting the remasters.
Nice goalpost shift, but that would also mean Majora’s Mask doesn’t count if you’re using the word exact.

My point was, that up until BOTW, all of the 3D Zelda games fundamentally had the same style controls with minor updates. Well excluding the motion controls, but other than that it wasn’t that drastic.

Let me correct myself, I want more graphic style games like OoT/MM, it had the right level of reality and cartoon look.
