Due to a class-action lawsuit, anyone who bought an original fat version of PlayStation 3 between the dates of November 1st, 2006 and April 1st, 2010 can now submit a claim to receive up to $55 cash payment back from Sony.
There are two ways Class Members can file to receive payments. First, those who actually used the Other OS feature and submit a claim with proof of purchase within the required dates are entitled to $55, paid in full by Sony. Those who submit a claim with proof of purchase and "attest that they intended to use the Other OS function, lost value or desired functionality, or believe they were otherwise injured" are entitled to $9.
