Xbox I believe is the only gaming company that has not released a handheld console. With PlayStation, we had PSP and PS Vita, with Nintendo we have the Gameboy, Gameboy color, Nintendo DS, and the Nintendo 3DS but Microsoft and Xbox have never made any attempt to bring anything like a handheld to the console market.

Do you think we will ever see Microsoft and Xbox release a handheld console? Do you think it is enough that people can play on their phones or tablets using the Xbox Cloud Gaming?

If they have it in mind, they would have done so since. It is not something that they are planning to do. At least, I don't have it in mind that they want to release it.

It would be very tough, but if they did it would need exclusives and Microsoft most likely doesn't have the money or power to compete at this time.

I think it is unlikely that Microsoft would release a gaming handheld. But, if there is a very huge gamer demand for handheld gaming, it is possible that there maybe an Xbox handheld in the future.

They won't be able to compete with Nintendo.

The question is even to know whether they are interested on that too. You should look at it from that angle as well.

I feel Microsoft may make a handheld console if Microsoft becomes a more affordable gaming brand which makes game consoles which cost $200 or less like how tech brands like Wikipad, GPD, and Nvidia made gaming handheld and tablets to play console emulators, PC games, and Google Android games with physical button and joystick controller support.

If it's too cheap, it might not be up to standard. It's going to be a hard sell in my opinion.

That is true. A lot of people don't like cheap feeling gaming handhelds except for people who don't have enough money to buy a better handheld console.

I think if many people in the future become poorer, buyers maybe more likely buy a more basic cheaper Xbox gaming handheld which is more affordable to buy like Linux and Google Android gaming handhelds which can be bought for cheaper prices than a Nintendo 3DS and Sony PSP vita handheld.
