I think, if you mainly use a Stylus to click on buttons, website links, play games like Angry Birds and fruit ninja, and launch apps, regular stylus pens which usually cost $10 or less should be good enough for most tasks.
Regular Stylus also good for most non-professional users to casually draw simple images, and write simple notes.
I prefer the round rubbery stylus pens more. The tips are soft, and flexible on round stylus, so they are not as likely to scratch a screen, damage the LCD panel, or crack the screen. They are also easy to hold because the shaft is thicker.
I think the bigger round tip on regular stylus are also better for playing games which you swipe your finger a lot like Fruit Ninja because they simulate a human's finger better which has a larger tip.
