Yes, it can save you a few dollars by knowing how to sew up holes in clothing since clothing seems to not be very well made these days unless you pay a lot or know of a company which makes decent quality clothes for a fair price.

Making or modifying your own clothes can save you some money in the long run.

It is also possible to earn money by being a tailer, dress maker, or fashion designer by sewing your own clothes and selling them.

I wish I could sew, my dad works for a company that sells fabric too.

On the first day of sewing in home ec. I dropped my needle in the
machine... Then I proceeded to have to restitch every step since
I was so bad with the machine. And the year prior I was the second
last to finish sewing my intermediate difficulty hand sewn turtle.
