Does anyone still not trust Microsoft after the Xbox One reveal?

I mean, they did turn around on their crappy ideas extremely quickly, and the released console is at least a normal console rather than some always online DRM riddled piece of crap.

But... given they were stupid/arrogant enough to try that once, does anyone not trust them out of worries they'd do something similar again?

Nah, they were moving towards a Steam model on consoles but their pitch for the idea was all wrong. Could have been great but people freaked out about used games.

It is MicroSoft so as a rule I never trust them. FFS, every time they update Hotmail / Outlook, Skype, or MSN their "updates" are the removal of features. Same with their OS' (for example XP's Active Desktop features were removed in Vista's release).

I maintain the same outlook I told people all along when the retraction of their initial concept happened…if they were willing to TRY to do what the initial reveal of the Xbox One said they were going to do, then they lose all respect from me. If they've tried it once, they'll try it again, and eventually at least some of it will get through. Until they make it painfully obvious that the types of 'features' they were going to put in the One is not even on their radar anymore, preferably through multiple console releases without a single mention of said features, I do not trust them.

If you had asked me this a year ago I would have said that I never would trust Microsoft. However, since Steve Ballmer resigned as CEO, it seems things have turned around. Windows 10 is a seriously good operating system and strikes the perfect balance between 8 and 7. They are becoming more friendly to open source software instead of calling it a "cancer". Satya Nadella seems to be quite the decision maker so far. I still don't trust them completely, but they are becoming more and more trustworthy IMO.
