Full disclosure -- I'm writing this while only being about an hour into the campaign, plenty of time for it to disappoint.
I don't know where everyone else stood on Halo 5 Guardians, but to me it was a terrible game, a real letdown. The story made little sense, the way they wrote Cortana was a bit of a slap in the face, and Locke was more annoying than he was useful. Halo Infinite feels like a better game. It feels more fun to play, it has a story that already has me interested in where it's going, and I like that it's back to feeling like "us against the universe" like a Halo game should be. Again, very early in the campaign, so entirely possible this all changes, but for now it's nice to see it going back to where Halo should be.
For everyone else, do you feel like Halo Infinite is a decent release, and do you feel it makes up for the letdown that was Halo 5 Guardians?
