Well, does it? Do you believe there should be less water in the region, or is it a non issue that reviewers and fans blow out of proportion?

I feel the game does have too much water. If you have repels, it's not that bad, but I remember being kind of frustrated because I would always get lost. It suffers from Wind Waker syndrome. Except Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire are actually fun and it's not like the whole game is like that. It's only the last half.?

Water is just like another environment. Even though it is less original diving just makes it seem like there is a little bit more depth too it. The route with the ashes was creative wasn't it? And I mean this region is based off a region of Japan so you can't blame them that much. In my opinion Hoenn is really easy to navigate since I don't have to go through very many HMs and there is a lot of paths connected to each other. Sort of like Kanto was easy to navigate. Hopefully they gave routes different themes and there is no surfing music or at least make it optional. Not that I didn't like it but the GBA music just wasn't my favorite. I don't think reviewers should obsess over it that much. The sandstorms/mountains/cemetery/woods/taller grass also added to the environment let's not forget. ?

Really? Too much water? I'm already headed to my 8th gym badge and I've crossed the sea already and from getting to points it only takes a couple of seconds, it's not really difficult. Besides, once you cross it once you don't ever have to cross it again because you can just fly, so too much water shouldn't be an issue.

Also, if there wasn't enough water Kyogre wouldn't be able to roam, gotta consider the legendry's on how it will fit in the story, yeah they could have a whole body of water without an access but we wouldn't be able to catch Kyogre, if you honestly play that far, the water is not a problem.

Also to add, there's no wild encounters in the ocean and if you look in the DexNav you can see the old sprites used and there'd be a lot of obstacles, it's fairly easier now to navigate through the sea than it was in the GBA games.

The Hoenn remakes body of water is just fine, didn't bother me when I played GBA and definitely not now, I even think they shortened the area that's accessed, I also remember being lost continuously and had to fly back and start over.

It feels like it, I'm done with the story. Besides with Latias/Latios flying over its not a problem, Pokemon is rather generous in this game.

GameFreak at least fixed the water routes kinda with the AreaNav app, so you don't get too lost.  I think there's not a lot of water, but just enough to cause some frustration and enough to make surfing on a Sharpedo fun.  (Try it out.)
