Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

Nintendo has just announced Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D for the Nintendo 3DS. A few early screens were shown for the 2D platformer, which has a release date of 'Summer 2013' in North America, Europe and Japan.

Though not much is known about DKCR3D at this point, it does appear to be a port of the Wii game. Nintendo describes the game as "the smash-hit Wii game is getting a portable 3D makeover." No word yet on whether there new content is being added.

I kinda wish it wasn't a port, not to mention I can't imagine there being many 3DS users who don't already own a Wii. Still, I guess it will be good for those select few.

I actually know a lot of people who never own a Wii, I waited just to go for the Wii U.
