So what exactly is added?
I'm going to put this in the someday I'll buy this pile. I still have to beat DQ8, even though I felt it ended nicely where it was. I'm just not into the rest of the game because of that.
I'm near the end of my play on PS4 (which has less content than this) and just passing the 80 hour mark

In Dragon Quest XI S we’ll get to see more from all of the game’s main characters with additional stories where each of them become their own main characters, including Hendrik and Jasper. The official website shares new screenshots and a teaser for all the new stories.
The new stories allow players to take control of each character and progress through their own adventures. You’ll get to talk to people, look for treasure, and face tough foes a little differently than normal.
The new and previously untold stories take place in the part of the main story where the main characters get separated across the world.

Noble Battle Jade
Jade visits Octagonia, where she gets sent and imprisoned in another world by Booga.
Erik and his Strange Partner
Erik finds himself imprisoned in a monster’s hideout. He appears to be planning an escape with a Healslime.
Traveling Performer of Hope
Sylvando is at Gondolia where he meets folks that are being harassed by a band of thieves, so he steps up to set things straight.
Rab and the Kingdom of Happiness
Rab was chasing a bunny girl that he meets in a mysterious world, and finds himself in an unexpectedly nostalgic place…
Furthermore, Hendrik and Jasper’s stories, Too!
A dark shadow arrives in Heliodor Castle. “… is that you, Jasper?”
