Hey everyone, I am posting this with the encouragement and permission from DS.. I'll try not go on too long about this but recently, Photobucket has screwed me over and I am taking my business elsewhere, and as a former paying customer of 5 years, I have decided to use Dropbox as host for my forums images and flash as well as any other media that I've posted.

The reason I am doing so is because I won't be using Photobucket for something as important hosting my stuff and there is no way in HELL I am going back to ImageShack, and although 500mb is very generous for a free forum host, I won't be using my attachment space because I am very concerned about the frequent DDOS attacks and ip changes, I am hesitant to put anything more on the server than absolutely necessary. If anything, I will upload the smilies, badges and skin images (as a back up), etc., to the attachment space, and use Dropbox as my primary host for everything else. We should be fine just as long as the files don't exceed 20gb daily bandwidth.

I currently have 2.8 GB available on my forum's Dropbox account. If you'd like to help me earn more space, simply use my referral link to sign up or pm me with your email address, and I'll invite you, so that you can get your own Dropbox account, and earn more space by referring your friends.. Being referred is the best bet because both of us will be rewarded with 500mbs of free space.

The cool thing is that, unlike with promotional storage increases (such as the 50gb of bonus space you'd get for using your new Galaxy S3 with your Dropbox account), it doesn't expire, so whatever free space you earn, you get to keep. So you can earn up to 16gb in referrals alone, and when you add that to the 2 gb you get for making a free account, 3-5 gb for camera uploads (for every 500mb, you upload, you get 500mb added to your account) from your mobile device, the total is 23 gb and that is not counting the bonus space you'd get for completing their tutorial etc. and, once again, you'd get all that space for free.

This is comparable to the measly 2 gb of space you get for a free account on Photobucket, and even then, you can't upload pictures larger than 1024 x 768. Otherwise, you'd have to spend $30 a year to get 20gb of storage, and still no flash support. With Dropbox, your images will retain their size, and you will always have access to them as long as no one file exceeds 20gb daily bandwidth. In that case, access to your file would be limited until the next day.

The reason I am not using my own personal Dropbox account is because I might have to use that for vacation and non-vacation pics and video instead, since I won't be using Photobucket for them. However, if you want to help me out where that is concerned as well, then you can sign up using this referral link. http://db.tt/Y3RnMNF

Also, if you are concerned about spam, you should know that I follow the golden rule.. in other words, I don't do to others what I wouldn't want done to me. That being said, your email is safe with me.

Thank you for your time.

I like to see some GF members show their support for this.

So I make an account to give you extra free space? I'll be glad to help, one question though, it's all free for me right?

I've done this and it's all free. You just need to install a program on your PC but it can be unistalled once done. Though I find the program very helpful in backing up stuff or transferring things over to a smart phone.

Yes it is all free, you will only pay if you decide to upgrade to Pro. Remember, you'll only get the bonus space if you sign up using either or both of the referral links below.

TC's Dropbox: http://db.tt/GzcaoC2C - 6GB (3GB earned from camera uploads + 1GB from referrals)
My Dropbox: http://db.tt/Y3RnMNF - 10.9GB (5GB earned from camera uploads + 3GB from referrals)

Thank you for your support. :)
