Paramount Pictures finally unveiled the release date and title for its Dungeons & Dragons movie.
Announced via the first official D&D Direct event, the brief teaser trailer sees a dramatic assembly of the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves logo. The studio also confirmed that the movie will premiere on March 3, 2023.
The film boasts an all-star cast. Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Justice Smith, Regé-Jean Page and Sophia Lillis are set to star in the movie. While details around their characters are still unknown, Pine has teased that the Dungeons & Dragons movie is drawing inspiration from a variety of fantastical sources. "The way that I've been describing it, it's like Game of Thrones mixed with a little Princess Bride, just a smidge of [Monty Python and the] Holy Grail; it's somewhere in that ballpark," said Pine. "It's a lot of fun. It's got a lot of thrills. It's poppy, it's eighties heartfelt, there's a bit of Goonies in there."
