Still a button masher I take it?
in some ways yes, and in some ways no. They've given some tweaks to the combo system
I should give the main series a run one of these days.

I've played all main Dynasty Warriors games so far (I only played a few Empires games, then Strikeforce). I love the series but I gotta say my interest for it is slowly dying down. 
I love how simple and fun it is. The character design is where the game really shines, because frankly the story just gets repeated and tweaked with every release.
When DW9 was announced and I saw the promotional video, I got a little disappointed when the game developers were showcasing one of the game's "newest" features. Going up a ladder on a wall --- and that was it. I'd like to love the game but I have a feeling they're deliberately being cheap on innovations. Plus the maps look so barren and lonely
I'd probably play it someday when it gets cheaper. I wanna hold on to being a fan of this game haha.
