Edge gives Skyward Sword a perfect score...

...So enlighten me then... How are you going to play it without the one of the most critical requirements?

So, you're hoping that by watching some kid who makes a blind LP of a game as fast as he can to get it out before anyone else is going to give you a good idea of the game? It's not. You can't judge a game by how it looks.

*facepalm* Just get the bundle. It comes with a Wii Remote Plus(which looks like a normal wiimote with a built in wiimotionplus,so it wont look bad) and the game.

Watch a Let's Play of it. I thought everything out.

I asked how you were going to play it yourself. But you're seriously going to judge it on someone else playing it? That's a bit hypocritical of you. You said you wouldn't be influenced by what a magazine said about it, but you're going to allow a lets play to influence your thoughts on the matter? I understand that you get to see the footage second hand that way, but it lacks in comparison to actually playing it for yourself. You love majora's mask, right? Would you let yourself judge that from lets plays alone? Would you still think it was as great a game as you think it now if you had not played it yourself?

Yes, that is true. They have it built into the controller now.

Well DYL, if you decide not to get it, you could always give the money to me so that I purchase the game.

*Sigh* Curse running out of money at the end of the year...

You could always get the collectors edition of the game that comes with a gloriously sexy Wii-mote with Wii Motion plus built in it, the extra $20 is surely worth it DYL.

Wow. I can't believe the posts I'm reading in this thread. Hahaha.

Believe me DYL, your opinion counts, it's just you completely missed the point. Motion Plus is required to play. Don't have it? Can't play it. End of story.

You can't really compare your experiences with other Motion Plus games without trying Skyward Sword. It's unfair.

The swordplay from Twilight Princess feels completely different compared to Skyward Sword. Instead of effortlessly wagging the remote you now have 1:1 tracked movements. Meaning if I raise my arm ever so slightly, Link's arm will do the same, without hesitation.

I can confirm what the others are trying to explain to you. You can't say I made that up or based that claim from a preview someone wrote. Why? Because I've already had some time with SS. If it felt good almost half a year ago, can you imagine now that it's almost out.

But I guess none of that matters if you've already convinced yourself that it's going to be disappointing.

*Insert face palm here* Well, cool beans. Congratulations. I'm happy for you. That bundle looks fantastic.

But saying that the Wii motion plus is a "worthless piece of crap" is a bit far fetched. We've even had someone post in this topic who has played it firsthand the differences between the capabilities that the Wii remote alone has with twilight princess and the Wii motion plus has with skyward sword. I can't believe you still think that you are not required to have the wii motion plus to play the game when even the producers of the game have time and time again mentioned the necessity of this product.

I already said I used WMP at my friends house (because it was built in without my knowlege) and it felt no different than without.

...There's a difference between the feeling of playing it and the need of a game to work with it. I don't believe that the game will recognize the wii remote without the wii motion plus. All I know is that it is a requirement. How many times must this be said?

Just out of curiosity, what game did you use Wii Motion Plus with at your friends house? I only ask because, from what I recall at least, Wii Motion Plus only works with games that were built to work with it.

Let's take Twilight Princess for example: Even if you had WMP, you wouldn't notice any difference because that game was not built to work with WMP.

Wii Sports Resort. I played one of the sword games. I moved the Wii Remote forward and it went backwards. If it's meant to go the way you move it then it does a bad job.

Are you sure you had it configured properly?
And you still don't seem to grasp the concept that you cannot say "I don't believe you need Wii Motion Plus". It is compulsory to play the game. The game simply will not function without it. It would be like trying to play Twilight Princess on the Wii without the Nunchuck. It is completely and utterly impossible.

That's your problem. The remote you were using wasn't calibrated right. Whenever I play Wii Resort with the family everything plays well, including swordplay. It also seems that everyone else doesn't have a problem except for you. Besides, the whole point of integrating WMP into the remote was to make it as seamless as possible. The technology is only there for when you need it for specific games. It only enhances the experience of motion control gameplay not hurt it. Just give it a chance. There is no use assuming the worst when you haven't tried out the game yet.
