Elon Musk Buys 9.2% Stake in Twitter

Elon Musk's Free Speech does not include criticizing him, read from tweaktown:

Elon Musk described himself on Twitter on March 5 as a "free speech absolutist", and has now reportedly fired several employees for being involved in an internal letter that criticized him.

The New York Times has reported that an internal letter was circling SpaceX that criticized the company's CEO and founder and said that SpaceX needs to separate itself from Musk's personal brand. The letter was seen by Reuters and headed "an open letter to the Executives of SpaceX" and demanded that "hold all leadership equally accountable to making SpaceX a great place to work for everyone" and "define and uniformly respond to all forms of unacceptable behavior".

SpaceX executives discovered the letter and have fired at least five employees involved with it, according to The New York Times, which states it communicated with three of the fired employees. Notably, SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell wrote via email that the company recently investigated its creation and "terminated a number of employees involved".

I feel like if they wanted to criticize him they really shouldn't be serving two masters. But this will be destructive to his image. Keep in mind in the US, free speech doesn't give you the right to harm others with it, like saying fire in a public place.

So it's done Elon is now the owner of twitter.

From Tweaktown:

Elon Musk walked into the San Francisco headquarters of Twitter yesterday carrying an actual sink... and now CEO Parag Agrawal and CFO Ned Segal have left the company, and they won't be coming back.

It seems that the story is only going to get bigger from here on out, given that Elon Musk is now in control of the second-largest social networking site in the world... just as Meta is burning. Meta shares are down a stark 24.5% overnight, down from $130+ to just $98 at the time of writing.

Twitter shares on the other hand are holding steady, up 0.6% to around $53 right now... nothing has really changed in the last few days for Twitter. You'd think with all the negative press with Elon Musk acquiring Twitter and walking in with a sink, and how much outrage there is over it, that Twitter shares would be plummeting. But nope, Twitter is strong... Meta is sinking.

"The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence. There is currently great danger that social media will splinter into far-right wing and far left-wing echo chambers that generate more hate and divide our society".

Yeah, I agree Facebook isn't fun, nor is it rewarding to even be on that platform.

It'll be interesting to see how he amends content policy and whether or not he will unban Donald Trump. Elon has already fired the top two executives; he'll either turn around Twitter or run it into the ground. I am excited to find out.

And so the end begins.

He has already unbanned Donald Trump's Twitter account. Is that a good news or bad news to you?
