Personally, I've ended up getting exactly one game early (as far as I can tell, it's not like I'm gonna carbon date the game just to verify), and that was Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.
Basically, I was out looking for a new game one day, went into a famous London toy store and picked this game almost at a whim in the video games section. Only a few days later did I however realise that the game probably wasn't supposed to be on sale yet, since even the official magazine hadn't reviewed it by the time I'd played the game...
Still, it was a fun game. And hey, I even still have the game in my possession at this very moment in time, so I guess I can look back and remember the times I must have been playing it at least two days before it was meant to be on sale.
I've never been able to get a game before it's release date. Well I've never really tried to do so.
Also I don't think I'd leak any images or video if I ever did. However I might share a bit of information with my friends if they asked me.
i wish i did. stores are pretty stupid about releasing things before they are supposed to be. the process is not very secure. And i wouldn't post up videos and stuff about it. i'd probably just be in a chat room (or shout box) saying things.
There's a local game store that occasionally gets shipments of new games a couple days early, and they let people that pre-ordered them get it first.
If I remember correctly, the last time I got a game somewhat early from them was WarioWare: D.I.Y. I think I got it two or three days before the release date, so that was kind of neat. I've never gotten anything SUPER early, though.
I got Sonic Generations on October 24th (it was released on October 25th) in 2011.
Also, I chose the "I would keep the information to myself until it was released", although technically, that's not quite true.
The real answer is, I would obviously tell people in my house about it, but I wouldn't exactly intentionally leak any info at all, even after release. Not because I'm... tight, but simply because I wouldn't. No reason really.
I've never gotten a game before its release date. I would spill all the info though. There are tons of people out there wanting to know more about the game and it might help some people decided to go purchase it on day 1.
Nope, never been lucky enough to end up with a game before the release date. I wouldn't tell all the details though, but that's more because I don't take videos or anything like that. I'd answer questions if someone asked I suppose.
