People, when dealing with other research-based fields, like engineering or medicine, tend to trust professionals and don't try to argue with them thinking they know better. Not with the economy and economists though........ In the medical field, engineering, and other sciences, there is a acceptance of well-established procedures and concepts. It's interesting how everyone seems to have their own take on the macro economy and believes they could do a better job with their uneducated ideas. It stems from a lack of knowledge that economics, while only a social science, is still a deep and nuanced field with a tonne of research and empirical evidence backing the norms we follow.
