Fake gold Canada?

An Ottawa jeweller happened to buy some gold from Canada who wanted to sell off some of their gold stores. The problem though? The gold bought for 1,680 turned out to be fake.

The Royal Canadian Mint said in a statement to CBC it is in process of testing the bar, "although the appearance of the wafer and its packaging already suggests that it is not a genuine Royal Canadian Mint product."

ThIs is unfortunate. Hopefully, the criminals who made the Fake gold are arrested, and refund the money they scammed.

I'm sure they would need to provide ID before getting their money. Much like Cash Converters etc.

It is possible that Canada themselves never had any real gold, which would put the whole nation in a really bad light.

Plus, a lot of people, museums, and companies in Canada own gold, gold jewelery, antiques, and coins.
