Fake Xbox rumours show video game journalism is broken

I love this story, because it's such a great illustration of everything that's wrong with video game journalism and so many of the news sites:

Long story short, he made up some new Xbox successor info, sent it to a bunch of 'journalists' as an anonymous tipster and got it published despite no evidence whatsoever that any of it was accurate.

Indeed, it's a great illustration of how lazy and obsessed with cheap page views these gaming news sites are, since they all just copied it down from each other and didn't even bother to verify any of it. What happened to any sort of standards? Caring what you write and post on your websites?

What do you think about this whole fiasco?

CVG Rob correly guy is EXTREMELY rude, god, a quick google search got me 2 things: the REAL chat and the chat Rob posted in his twitter.

I must say, CVG should be ashamed of him, he insulted the poor fella' in all ways possible.
