Why does pretty much no one ever say "legitimate"?

I could go for that. The main screen looks great, and it's a good use of the controller's screen. And, of course, Pikmin 3 is a nice touch. =P
That makes me wonder what the actual home menu will look like. Hopefully Nintendo will be somewhat creative with it.

The reason no one ever says "legitimate" is for the exact reason I know you suspect to be true - that is, most people only know the word "legit" and are unaware that is is an abbreviation of "legitimate", or even that the word "legitimate" exists at all. (Also, laziness - they don't want to type "legitimate", it's too long.)
