What drew you to Nintendo? What makes you like Nintendo consoles and/or it's games? How long have you been a fan of Nintendo?
Nintendo didn't buy SEGA. SEGA just became third party so they can make game on any consoles. When I was a kid, you only had to choose between Nintendo and Sega. But Nintendo bought out Sega at some point (at least, I assume they did because they can make Sonic games for the Nintendo consoles now) and then there was just Nintendo for a little bit before Sony and Microsoft came into the picture.
My parents bought a NES for the whole family when I was around 5 to 7 years old, somewhere in there. I've been a fan of Nintendo ever since then....

Honestly I've never understood console wars. I mean, video games are video games. Play what you want, but don't hate on someone who doesn't like your preferred console.
I don't think so. Sonic Forces is still coming out on Playstation and Xbox. As well as the Switch. Same with Sonic Mania. If Nintendo owned Sonic, I doubt they'd allow him to be on other consoles than Switch and 3DS.I think people get confused on Sega because Nintendo did buy Sonic rights correct?

hrmm, I could have sworn I saw something on Nintendo and Sega only, maybe I didn't read it right.
SEGA is still a stand alone company and Sonic belongs to them. Nintendo partners with (pays) Sega to bring exclusive Sonic games to Nintendo platforms, but that doesn't mean Nintendo owns Sonic or Sega.
When Sega went 3rd party after the Dreamcast failed, Nintendo platforms were a natural fit since Sonic sold to the same demographic as Mario versus the demographic on PS2 and Xbox that buys Grand Theft Auto and Halo.
Back to the topic at hand, Nintendo was my first introduction to gaming. I loved Zelda and Pokémon on my GB and still buy those series to this day. They got me while I was young and made a lifer out of me.
It was 2005. I was in middle school, or fifth grade. I saw this chick in my class with a DS, and I loved how the console looked. I wanted to be able to play video games on a portable console like that. At that time, I was only familiar with the at-come consoles. The pink color made it appeal more to a gal like me. I eventually get one for Christmas, after straight A's of course, and the first game I played was Animal Crossing. I remember the moment I turned it on and held it in my hands. I was in awe of everything. What drew you to Nintendo? What makes you like Nintendo consoles and/or it's games? How long have you been a fan of Nintendo?
Exactly. I lived in a family that was picky about whatever media we consumed, including video games. Even though the cartridges were pricey, my father was eager to buy them for me since there was a bunch of kid-friendly content.Nintendo was the only "safe" game company that my parents approved. They saw Super Mario World's box and realized that it was appropriate for two young boys growing up. So I became a Nintendo kid. I finally branched out when I became older. Expanded my horizons eventually to Playstation. Still can't get into XBOX fully. Then there's PC gaming. But, I will always be a Nintendo fan at heart.
