I still need to play the first two.

They do play completely different, and more closer to regular Megaten. The only annoying mechanic is grinding for tarot cards.

The remake of 3 really grew on me as I played it but I still think 5 might be better.

Some people would group SMT in with Persona when they hear "Persona"

I prefer SMT so didn't want any confusion by saying P5R.
