n spite of Sony's (weak, in our opinion) denial last week, many are speculating a 40Gig PlayStation 3 is on the way.

The evidence is a filing from Sony with the FCC. While the detailed documents of what, exactly, is being submitted have been kept secret, the following info on the PlayStation 3 model CECHG01 is:

* Bluetooth 2.0+EDR;
* 802.11b/g WiFi; a
* 3.2GHz CPU
* 66MHz ATA,
* 133MHz ATA, 3
* 3MHz PCI and
* 750MHz SATA1
* ports including USB, HDMI, and Ethernet.

Those stats match the PS3... leading to the speculation that the only difference of note is the hard disc size... could this be the rumored 40Gig PS3?

Or a MILLION Gig PS3??

I think they would be screwing themselves if they released another skew for the PS3. There area already tons of 60 and 80 gig PS3 sitting on store shelves right now. Production of another skew is going to cost them even more money.
