Hello Everyone,

I’ve been a member of this forum for a little while now, and I truly enjoy the discussions and the wealth of knowledge shared here about gaming. However, I believe there’s always room for improvement when it comes to enhancing engagement and the overall user experience on the platform. I’d love to hear your thoughts and share some of my own ideas!
  1. Thread Categories: Do you think the current categories are sufficient, or should we expand them to include more niche gaming topics? For example, would sections for “Retro Gaming” or “Indie Game Spotlights” be beneficial?
  2. Community Events: Would you be interested in events like gaming tournaments, weekly gaming challenges, or even “Game of the Month” discussions? These could encourage more participation and foster a stronger sense of community.
  3. Platform Features: Are there any specific features you feel could improve usability? For instance, a better notification system for replies, the ability to follow specific threads, or enhanced mobile usability for browsing and posting?
  4. Content Sharing: How about a section dedicated to user-generated content, like fan art, game reviews, or even modding tutorials? This could allow members to showcase their creativity and knowledge.
  5. Social Media Integration: Do you think integrating the forum with social media (e.g., sharing threads on platforms like Twitter or Discord) would help attract new members?
I’m genuinely curious about everyone’s opinions and suggestions. Let’s brainstorm ways to make Gaming Latest even better!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

Thread Approved. I loved the Community Events I thought something similar years ago would see everyone input on what games they want to have a tournament on? for Content Sharing I like it but we need to Restrict AI Art or Animation artwork. I would love a Discord and Gaming Latest Post Intergration So we can get notify when a user posts on this forum

This is possible with the “watch feature”, which allows you to follow certain threads.
You can also install the PWA app and you’ll receive notifications right away instead of in the browser.

I am looking into more discord integration for our big upcoming upgrade.

I'm going to lay you out a LOT of suggestion BUT feel free to ignore it because I'm an OLDER gamer so most likely my suggestions are outdated and personal based.

1. Thread Categories: Personally it's not the way I would organized it.
I believe that adding niche could be beneficial with some organizing.

Here is a complete forum layout I would opt for(except the names ( just names it anything quick)

1. Esports doesn't fit. It can be in another sub-category within the "Sports" forum but I would recommend just merging it in that SPORTS" niche forum
- I don't get the the higher gaming category. I cannot post in there. I placed the forums where I thought they would go best but I could be wrong.
- zelda has its own discussion in the higher gaming forum so you can freely add individual games or studios as you see fit in the future. I don't think the forum will be ever active enough for a giant list of individual games but it probably is big enough for a category of games such as "COD" etc. personally I wouldn't add more anyway because this place is big enough as it is.

2. Community events: I believe that monthly or weekly gaming tournaments and/or challenges are a lot of effort for the lack of enrollment. Events do need it's own forum though and a spot for the expired contests to be in. It will given people an opportunity to run their own thing in there too with admin approval.

3. Way too many. lol. There is even a music player in here. I wonder if anyone uses it.

4. content sharing is a great idea although I feel it would struggle for activity. if you were to add "gaming reviews" it should probably be in it's own category. If someone took on the important duty to create a template for people to use then it would probably get active and stay clean. Once it's big enough it may have to expand to a review forum being inside each game genre forum.
The other part about content sharing is maybe you could switch it to something more open such as Creativity sharing. This way people can share their artwork, craftsmanship, or any hobby that takes effort. Maybe people will create topics and keep sharing their continuous progress in whatever that hobby is.

5. I think stuff like discord will not attract attention to this forum. I think it just adverts members away from this forum actually. they choose "this or that". If discord has minimal info then it will get people to go from there to here but if there is too much over there then they won't even know about this place. Also if management are spending tons of time there working on it you'll have to track and see if it really is paying off. If you are thinking of promoting the only best way is to promote at other forums. It is more likely people will come by.

Thoughts?

I'll take your board lineup into consideration, however I did at one point have the gaming boards all into separate consoles for news, but since the majority of news concerns more than one platform, it doesn't work to separate them out.

I may fold esports into general board.

Higher gaming is suppose to be a club type setup that Revolved101 Revolved101 wanted to see, but I don't think its working too well. You should see a join button once clicking on the section though.

I've been thinking of making events a focus.

And what do you mean by too many? Also music player board shouldn't be around anymore.

I still like to use the discord as a backup if the forum goes down or people need instant chat for the event area.

No, I wouldn't separate news with consoles. In my layout I have it the same. I just took all of the console discussions and sub-forum them together into a forum called "System based". Its not news for them. It's the same as you got.

"Too many" Platform Features. Bro, how do you even sleep with all of the stuff going on here. and the discord and the other stuff. There is a lot.

Oh it's there

I would contribute to the art section. But maybe I'll keep it on my own Discord because I want some combined interactions.

Ah, I see it now. I'll think about moving some things about. Yeah, side board is chonky, I'll be slimming it down.

Have you guys ever thought about running a constant mic "Party chat" or whatever they call it on ps and xbox?

I've never actually even talked to any of you before.

The problem is getting everyone at the same time

Do we have a VC over on our discord if you wish to chat with us

You need to get everyone together for that
