Us at GamesCom: Will we ever see a remake of Final Fantasy VII?

FFXIII’s Yoshi Kitase and Motomu Toriyama, speaking through a translator: There’s no official project that’s up and running for a remake of Final Fantasy VII at this point. Both Toriyama-san and Kitase-san were involved in the development of the game, however, and it holds a special place in their hearts. They do talk about it on a personal level, like, ‘If we did it it would be like this or like that.’

So, they do talk about it, but there’s no official project yet. But there’s that PSN release that just came out, so if you could play that for the time being, it should be fun.

They probably have no choice but to talk about it because people have been practically begging for one for years.

Personally, as a FF fan that has all of the FF games up to 12, I don't want a remake of FF VII. It holds a special value and memories that just don't need to be tampered with.
 
I don't care becuase i hated 7. But if they're gonna remake it, they should deffinatley redo the graphics becuase the graphics were absolutley horrible!

the graphics for FF7 back then were the best thing on the market.

yeah, i heard about that. everyone liked the graphics, well except me of course. i think they should have made it 2d like they did with ff9, i do think ff8's graphics were better than 7 though.

FF8 and 9 graphics were not available when FF 7 was being made.

FF 7- FF was updated from sprites to models.

FF 8- the graphics were full scaled and clean up.

FF 9- the graphics were perfected from the FF 7 use.

FF 10- the graphics were perfected from the FF 8 use.

then the game would have gotten a bad rep about being on a PS1 and yet still using Snes graphics.
