Speaking at G-CON 2024 in Korea, while the pair wouldn’t be drawn on further details about the game’s plot, they did mention that work on the game’s plot has been completed and that the team is now focussed on the game itself.

As first reported by 4Gamer, Kitase also said: “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth provided a vast map, but in the third game, the Highwind (airship) will appear, so we need to let you experience the world from a higher perspective.

“We won’t cheat with the airship system, but challenge it head-on so that players can freely fly around the map.”

I look forward to the seamless 3d realtime Airship world travel!

The first game ever to make you pay another 70bucks to start again from scratch. While other games just have a new game button in the main menu lol
Seriously not gonna level up a third time a fire materia for cloud

Toriyama said this In a recent interview with Famitsu. Hopefully Tifa PLOT 3 trailer in sep 2025!

As they were discussing plans for Ever Crisis’s second anniversary in September 2025, Toriyama mentioned:

By then, we may have started to release information about the last part of the FFVII Remake Project, so I hope that players will get excited about that with us.”

Nomura just said:

“Right, so, looking at the comments, I’m seeing people ask every so often about the third entry in the [Final Fantasy VII] Remake series,” Nomura said. “Apparently, [co-director Motomu] Toriyama mentioned in an interview that something might be released around the second anniversary [of Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis]. So that’s probably where those expectations are coming from. Right, so things are progressing really smoothly. I can’t really say more—if I suddenly went, ‘Well, actually…,’ everyone would be really surprised! (Laughs.)

“So yeah, things are moving along really smoothly, and the release timing has already been decided. We’re moving forward according to that schedule right now, so please rest assured and be patient.
