Multi Final Fantasy 7 remake part 3’s storyline is complete

Interesting find. Especially the love triangle thing going on in the middle there. That explains why Sephiroth seems to have an affinity towards Aerith. The story we ended up with also makes sense and can still work if the original game HAD kept the storyline - and intact. You could make the story go like: Sephiroth searched for Aerith for the power of Aerith, and split the universe in some way. That rebirth storyline. Original storyline is Sephiroth search for Aerith for the power of Aerith, KILLS Aerith because I think he got what he wanted out of Aerith. This new leak, Aerith and Sephiroth falls in love, and makes things more complex. In my storyline idea, Rebirth continues, but Sephiroth falls in love with Aerith after the ending, and Cloud fights with Sephiroth over the love of Aerith. I don't think they'll do that in Disc 3/Part 3, because that will ruin the storyline of Rebirth. But he hadn't killed Aerith in one timeline, but in the other timeline she is alive in Rebirth ending.

Interesting article, nonetheless.

Nah I don't like making Cloud fights Seph over love of Aerith. Cloud should be on Tifa's PLOT all the way baby! lol

lol she has Zack. And there's never a real triangle to begin with. As we all know the reason Cloud having a "thing" on Aerith is because of the Jenova cells in his body, allowing Zack Persona to be in his mind.

Any reason is valid to get another's plot lol.

Problem is, that would make the complex issue worse because ...Tifa is practically married to Barrett. Barrett almost got into an rivalry with Cloud from the get. Cloud maintains his aloof attitude, so it fends off Barrett's attitude from Cloud. So, if HE and TIFA fell in love, like one of the branches of that amusement park thing...? The one that you take a ride with Aerith with? That storyline has multiple endings in its own. So, you fall in love with Tifa in there. If THAT storyline affected Rebirth's ending like it does in Black Ops 2... You would have had a jealous Barrett throughout Rebirth, and Barrett would have lost respect for Cloud at that point. Because throughout Rebirth, HE GAINED more respect for Cloud at that point.

Zack doesn't seem like he's interested in Aerith, not in the way you think. Like dating kind of "like." Here's a clip I did a long time ago proving it...

Here it is: As you can see, Aerith is hiding her feelings. Using "Like" instead of "love." Most women today do this shit.

I get/know you are a diehard Aerith/Cloud fan and thus, I won't debate it with you it's pointless to me. I'll just say this:

It's very clear to me Tifa has never been romantically interested in Barret, and Barret never sees Tifa that way. And Barret still loves Myrna, his late wife, (Barret's emotional trial at the Temple of the Ancients in Rebirth). And Zack is interested in Aerith romantically and so does Aerith with many evidence, scenes and proof on this especially in The Crisis Core game. And with Aerith even at the end of Rebirth regardless Cloud's affinity level with Aerith the Dev makes sure Aerith friendzones Cloud by saying explicitly on the "like" and like thing, as she knows that in truth she loves Zack and attracted to Cloud mainly because of his similarity in mannerism to Zack. And Tifa is the only one the Dev purposely gives an actual kissing scene (Lip lock lol) with Cloud in Rebirth and not Aerith with the high affinity scenes, if they wanted to they could give Aerith a kissing scene too with Cloud but that's not the case mainly because of the Aerith/Zack stuff. Kissing/lip locking is a really big thing in JRPGs like in Japanese Culture. Nojima wrote the story really good by making you feel that there's an actual triangle, giving people many angles on it, to the point that there are people that are really invested with the LTD (Love Triangle Debate, that's still running all these years) even making all sort of theories, conditions, views on Aerith's Love life lol while in truth there's never a real triangle between Tifa/Cloud/Aerith, it's just Cloud/Tifa and Zack/Aerith. It's just clever writing by Nojima. Full Stop.

Naoki Hamaguchi was asked about the kiss scene between Cloud and Tifa in FF7 Rebirth at the PlayStation Partner Awards! #FF7RQ: During the gondola date in the game, you are able to see a kissing scene with Tifa. This was a first in the 27 years since the release of the original FF7 and came as a big shock to fans. What was the intention behind implementing this kissing scene?Hamaguchi: That's an extremely nerdy question (laughs). Yes, actually there was a clear intention behind it. In the first game (Remake), there is a branching event scene, during the final time heading to the Shinra Building, where Cloud hugs Tifa. So, when connecting Remake to Rebirth, we wanted to show growth in Cloud as well and the team discussed that if he hugged Tifa in the first game, wouldn’t it be better to do something more than that in the second game, and that's how it ended up being expressed.”

From Thelifestreamforum:

Final Fantasy Seven’s love triangle debate has been raging for the better part of twelve years now, and caused no end of interfandom tensions. For those of you unfamiliar with the whole debacle, I first congratulate you on your luck in remaining free, and I next explain that it is the debate over which of Tifa or Aerith Cloud Strife loves. Many a year, and countless hypotheses have been spent trying to argue that Cloud and Tifa are not a couple despite all the best evidence, and that Cloud and Aerith have a relationship despite the latter’s unfortunate condition. For some time, the love triangle debate has been in what could aptly be described as its death throes. Today, hopefully, we can perform a mercy killing.

Just this morning, our translator Tres dias, who is translating the FFVIII keywords and character profiles, who co-wrote the Dissidia FAQ with Mako Eyes, and who has written a comprehensive FAQ on this subject, received the Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Ultimania Scenario in the mail. He wanted me to be the one to make this post, and it is my honor to now provide you with his scans, and translations, of page 394 of the guidebook, on ‘For the one I love.’

The header to this section reads

For the one I love
Through the long journeys, the love of the protagonists develop. Occasionally they become separated, but the two’s value to one another gives them the great strength to overcome whatever crisis may come.

Of direct interest to we fans of Final Fantasy Seven, however, are two images and their associated text, which we have provided, zoomed in on, so those playing at home can check our work.

First, is a picture discussing the Gold Saucer date. The text describing it reads

Secret date

At the Gold Saucer, Cloud receives an invitation from one of his companions. Who comes around with the invitation is dependent on Cloud’s behavior.

Nothing so amazing, no, all it tells us is that the date itself is up to player control, so no one version is ‘official,’ but the next section is not only what hopefully will make for a swift end to the LTD, but also confirms a scenario I have been arguing in favor of for quite a number of years.

As you can see, the image is of Cloud and Tifa’s night under the Highwind. That on a page entitled ‘for the one I love’ is very conclusive in its own right. The text, however, takes it a step further, and reads

The night before the final battle

Thanks to Tifa, Cloud regains himself, and before the final battle with Sephiroth, without using words, he confirms with her that their feelings match.

Read that again. ‘without using words, [Cloud] confirms with [Tifa] that their feelings match.’ So, not only can we unequivocally state that these matching feelings are those of love, but that these feelings of love are confirmed without words. In other words, physically. So, yes, there was almost certainly sex under the Highwind that night. I do not wish to bore everyone with a regurgitation of all the related materials, but this does confirm that yes, Cloud and Tifa’s relationship past this point are that of lovers. And that, my friends, settles the Love Triangle. Even if you don’t want to believe it.

Also of note is that this page shows all the other ‘canon’ couples in the main parties, Ingus and Sara, Cecil and Rosa, Locke and Celes, Squall and Rinoa, Steiner and Beatrix, Zidane and Garnet, and Tidus and Yuna in their moments of revelation. So Cloud and Tifa are certainly in good company, hugging together underneath the Highwind along all the other canon couples of Final Fantasy.

One last thing, before I go. I have one thought, from Tres himself, that he asked me to relate to everyone. That thought is, “All that’s left to say is: Abandon ‘ship!” Wise words indeed, since that ship has been undeniably sunk, if you’ll pardon the pun, by canon.

UPDATE: If you wish to see the translation of the page as a whole, please follow this link to Tres’s translations of what the rest of this page says about revelation of romantic feelings in other games, and what the box in the lower right says about displays of non-romantic feelings.
