It looks support ranks no longer use the traditional S, A, B, C scale. But a new numeric heart-icon indicator

and read this fan theory

I don't think we'll see Eshmel for the first part of the game, which seems to be the tournament. I have this feeling the game starts with the tournament, building our small force and winning battles, and then, story unfolds, bad people starts to make them known, deep and dark mystery and everything. At some point, the bad people could be very strong. I also had this feeling we could have two different moment in time to play, like a start in the arena > event > timeskip into the second part of the game. Second part fighting the bad guys, underworld invasion or whatever. And in that setting, Eshmel appearing to save people.

They could be seen as some sort of Gotoh, joining the game "late" to guide the protagonist into something they don't know (dealing with obscure forces) and giving a bit of raw power to the army. Of course, since it's a gendered unit, chose by the player, I think they will not join too late. Maybe like mid-game, a bit like when Byleth and Sothis fusionned.

So we would have Eshmel for a good portion of the game, but not at first, since they seem really powered and "angel-like savior". Also, this let the player get really familiar with the protagonists, unfold the story with them, understand their motives and everything, before going to the more "epic" part of the story.

Fire Emblem fans made this chart based on the characters we have seen so far in the trailers:

Character】Fabio (CV: Megumi Yamaguchi) A mysterious missionary of the Church of Seiros who hails from the distant land of Fódlan. While rational on one hand, he has a habit of referring to others as "beasts" and looking down on them. He is from the same hometown as the protagonist Dietrich, but they originally had no acquaintance. ●Likes: Various kinds of pain, conversations with intelligent people

and Esmerelda, they are both part of Dietrich's default crew i believe:

fortune's weave world map combines with 3 houses world map nicely:

So the game receives a more restricted 15+ rating in japan, C. 3 houses was B 12+.

New tweet:
[Battle] Weapon Types: There are five weapon types in *#FEFortunesWeave*: Swords, Lances, Axes, Bows, and Gauntlets.
The weapons a unit (character) can wield depend on their assigned class.
For example, a "Hunter" unit can equip Swords and Bows, while a "Soldier" unit can equip Swords, Lances, and Axes.

Seems pretty standard.
