Forced reading?

Is any of your reading forced or expected? Or do you just read for fun? Or are you reading to learn something?

I read to learn but it can feel forced because I value my time where I need to improve.

Reading fiction books does not feel forced to me.
Reading to learn does feel forced because I make myself start and have trouble sticking to it for a while when learning. Then I start enjoying it, and it no longer feels forced.

I only felt forced when it was in school & we had to read what they wanted us to read. However, when we could pick our own books, it was quite enjoyable. I think schools should focus more on the fact kids want to read rather than deciding what they should or should not read.

I read books to learn. The learning part is very important to me. I want to improve on the aspect that the book os discussing. So, I will always have to read.
