PDP announced today that a GameCube-inspired Wii U controller is coming this holiday season, just in time for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
The Wired Fight Pad is licensed by Nintendo and works with the Wii and Wii U consoles, plugging into a Wii Remote controller (like the Classic Controller or Nunchuk). PDP says that the GameCube-inspired controller will work with Wii and Wii U (including some Virtual Console) games that are compatible with the Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro.
In addition, PDP says that the Wired Fight Pad "will feature fan-favorite Nintendo characters such as Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach." The GameCube-inspired controller is planned to release around the same time as Super Smash Bros. for Wii U for $25 USD.
