Getting a refund on a shutdown game?

Given that Marvel Heroes sever will shut down next month, rendering any and all game purchases useless. What are your thoughts about a heavy microtransaction game shutting down and you may have recently sunk in a lot of money because you just picked it up but were unaware of its demise till it was too late?

Granted most online purchases like microtransactions come with a fine print saying all sales are final but do you think there should be a cut off date?

Maybe it just me but I think that microtransactions should be banned and just stick with DLCs etc. Then that way you won't lose anything if the servers are being closed down. I also think that online games like The Division should have offline modes as well so that players can play when they want.

I agree, at this rate our money will simply vanish and have nothing to show for it, unlike old games.
